Auster at Dome Mountain opens visitors up to the Montana landscape in new and powerful ways. The property’s 20 guest cabins are rustic yet elegant outposts surrounded by Montana beauty. Each cabin gives visitors a front-row seat to wild nature and stunning scenery.

This intimate setting delivers a serene lodging experience complimented by the amenities, activities and excursions at Auster at Dome Mountain. Just a half hour north of Yellowstone National Park and about an hour away from Bozeman, the property sits in the middle of the best of Montana.

Auster is excited to welcome visitors to this unique riverfront sanctuary in 2026.

Why the name “Auster”?

Derived from the Latin word meaning “The South Wind”, Auster is a nod to the winds that flow through Paradise Valley. It symbolizes movement, migration, and arrival –  a place to rest and settle into the beautiful natural landscapes of Montana.

When will bookings open?

The property is currently under construction with a target opening in Fall 2026.

What will Auster offer the local community?

The restaurant, saloon, coffee stand, and retail market will be open to the public year-round, creating a new casual day lodge and gathering space for locals.

Auster will also create meaningful, year-round employment opportunities in hospitality, culinary, and retail roles. Open positions can be found here.

What will the pricing structure be for the cabins?

We are still working on lodging rates and will share them as we get closer to opening booking opportunities.

Who owns and operates Auster?

Auster is part of owner Arthur M. Blank’s AMB West Montana properties, which also includes Mountain Sky Guest Ranch, West Creek Ranch, and Paradise Valley Ranch.
